Regalia Gold is the latest addition to the popular HDFC Regalia Credit card family, and a welcome one. Both HDFC Regalia and Regalia First were once one of the most popular and widely used all-rounder cards, but devaluation of features and rewards over the years had taken the sheen off the Regalia cards. But HDFC Regalia Gold may be the game-changer in the sub-5000 annual fee all-round card market.

A good reward rate, complimentary memberships on activation, international and domestic airport lounge access along with flight vouchers as milestone benefit are some of the strong features of the card. While the reward rate on Regalia Gold is the same as Regalia, the Gold variant provides an exclusive ‘Gold Catalogue’ that has additional premium brands for reward redemption. Here is a detailed review of HDFC Regalia Credit card.

There are several reasons to love HDFC Regalia Gold. First, at a Rs 2500 price point, few cards would be able to match up to the all-round benefits across travel and lifestyle that Gold offers. The welcome benefits of a Rs 2500 gift voucher and complimentary memberships on activation (especially of Club Vistara Silver Tier) are great. HDFC’s Smartbuy platform has always been impressive, with several brands like Amazon, Myntra etc. present on it, and now with the Gold Catalogue that comes with the Regalia Gold card, users can redeem reward points also against premium brands like Apple, Fitbit and Bose.
After paying the joining fee in the first statement of the card, HDFC Bank also provides you with a Rs 2500 welcome gift voucher. Existing HDFC Bank consumers may get the card at zero joining fee (in that case, you would not get the gift voucher). The renewal fee waiver at an annual spend of Rs 4 lakh is not difficult to reach.

The reward rate for Regalia Gold is the same as Regalia of 4 RPs per Rs 150 spent, which is good, plus users get 5X reward points on platforms like Myntra, Marks and Spencer, Nykaa and Reliance Digital. HDFC has also upgraded the milestone benefit for Regalia Gold card as users now get free flight vouchers worth Rs 5000 each on reaching Rs 5 lakh and Rs 7.5 lakh annual spends respectively. There is an additional quarterly milestone benefit as well – a Rs 1500 gift voucher.
Domestic lounge access of 12 a year and international lounge access at 6 a year is more than good, and should be enough for most. With Regalia cards, you can also get add-on cards for your family members, that would also give both domestic and international lounge access.
